A three-year varsity starter, Goodfellow played 65 games and scored 1, 025 points while at Manhattan. A two-time All Met Conference player, Bill was also voted to the All Metropolitan Team. Affectionately nicknamed "Goody," he was ninth in total career points at the time of his graduation. He had 223 boards as a guard and shot 75 percent from the line. He helped the College take the Met Conference in 1967 against St. Francis; scored a career-high 31 points against Bobby Knight's Army team, and earned his 1,000th point against the University of Connecticut. At the St. Francis Game he was voted MVP and received the Junius Kellogg Award, making 20 of his 28 points in the second half to clinch the Jasper NIT bid. Life after Manhattan included teaching and coaching at Rice High School, service n the U.S. military and work as an account executive with the NY Telephone Company. Bill died tragically in a car accident at the age of 26. He is remembered as a gentleman and a fierce competitor by teammates and opponents alike, that captured the Jasper spirit in every game he played for Manhattan.
