Steve Trimper was the head coach of the Manhattan baseball team for seven seasons from 1999 to 2005.
During his time in Riverdale, Trimper compiled a 172-174-2 record, with three seasons at .500 or better. Before Trimper's arrival, the Jaspers had never qualified for the MAAC Tournament, but under his leadership, the Jaspers made the MAAC Tournament in 2003, 2004, and 2005. It was the start of a ten-year run of making the conference tournament. Manhattan advanced to the final in 2004 before falling to No. 1 seed Le Moyne.
In 2002, Trimper guided the Jaspers to a 32-19 record, which was the school's first 30-win season. In 2003, Trimper guided Manhattan to its first MAAC Tournament berth after posting a 15-10 record in league play. Trimper and the Jaspers finished 16-9 in the MAAC, which secured them the No. 3 seed in the MAAC Tournament.
Chris Gaskin (2002) and Matt Rizzotti (2005) earned MAAC Rookie of the Year honors under Trimper's guidance, with Rizzotti earning MAAC Player of the Year in 2005. Trimper coached three major award winners and earned MAAC Coach of the Year honors in 2002 and 20 All-MAAC honorees.
Trimper coached Mike Parisi, who was drafted in 2004, before reaching the Major Leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals. Trimper coached six MLB Draftees and three players signed as non-drafted free agents.
Trimper went on to coach Maine and is the current head coach at Stetson.
