Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
Russell Kurtz was a standout member member of the baseball team, batting over .300 as a senior. An outstanding centerfielder, he led the Jaspers to a combined 36-8-1 record over his three seasons (1936-38) of action. He also played basketball and football, and was a member of the Jasper's 7-3 football team in 1938, which is considered to be one of the top teams in school history. Off the field, Kurtz served as the Senior Class President.
