Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
A four-year letterman, team captain his senior year and two-time team Most Valuable Player, Leonard has left his mark on Manhattan. He ranks third in career free throw percentage (83 percent), holds the record of 32 consecutive shots from the line and ranks ninth in points with 1,329. He was named to the All Metropolitan Team in his junior and senior years and was a member of the Metro Atlantic All Conference Team (MAAC). He was a 10th-round NBA draft pick for the New York Knicks, one of only 20 Manhattan College players drafted by the NBA. Leonard went on to coach at the collegiate level, returning to Manhattan as a coach under Steve Lappas and helping the team to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 35 years. He later returned to serve as head coach at his alma mater for three seasons.
