Jack Daly was a two-sport standout in both baseball and football, serving as the captain for both teams. Daly played for arguably the greatest Manhattan football team, and was named to the College All-Star team that squared off against the New York Giants. He also was the star catcher of the Jaspers' baseball team, and described as the team's "spark plug." Off the field, Daly was the vice president of "The New Jersey Club," an off-campus organization of Manhattan College students from across The Hudson River in New Jersey. After graduating, he played for the Jersey City Giants, a minor league farm team of The New York Giants, before enlisting in the United States Army.
