Charlie Pratt was one of the most most versatile athletes in the storied history of the track and field program. A two-time All-American, he won the 1955 NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 220 low hurdles while also taking second in the 120 high hurdles. Over his three years from 1953-55, he won every Metropolitan IC4A hurdle title, and was the IC4A Champion in the long jump and 60-yard high hurdles. Pratt captured seven total outdoor titles as a senior in 1955, served as the captain of the Jaspers' indoor IC4A Championship team and set 70-yard hurdle record at the AAU Championships. The Manhattan record-holder in the 120-yard hurdles, he won the National AAU title in the decathlon, which also doubled as the first time he ever competed in the event. In the 1956 United States Olympic Trials, he took fifth in the 110 high-hurdles with a time of 14.2.
