Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
James Moffitt was a two-way standout for the football team. He played every down as a junior and a senior, and was voted to the New York All-State Team as a senior in 1938. His greatest collegiate games came against Texas and in the Jaspers' 15-0 shutout of North Carolina at Ebbetts Field in 1937. Following graduation, he would go on to play professionally with the Jersey City Giants, the Providence Steam Roller and the Hartford Blues.
