Mike Keogh was one of the top performers in the long proud history of the track & field program, earning All-American honors four times while helping lead the Jaspers to the 1973 NCAA Indoor Championship. Fueling Manhattan's historic team performance was his individual title in the two mile (8:39.7). Prior to his landmark showing, he placed placed fifth at the 1972 NCAA Indoor Championships in the two-mile, and in the 1500 meters at the 1972 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He then competed for Ireland at the 1972 Munich Olympics in the 5000 meters. He capped his outstanding career in Riverdale with a fifth-place showing in the three-mile race at the 1973 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
