Awarded one of the first female track scholarships at Manhattan. Youngest runner to earn All-East honors in 1984 and qualified for the Junior National TAC Championships. Given nickname "Two-Minute Rice" by New York Times. Dominant runner in 800-meters. Helped team win MAAC and Metropolitan Cross Country Championship. Part of school record 4x1500-meter relay (19:47.00) in outdoor. Holds school records in 600-yards (1:25.00), 800-meters (2:09.83) and 1000-meters (2:35.80) in indoor.
