Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
Ray Volpi was a standout pitcher for the baseball team, compiling an incredible 38-4 record for the Jaspers, with 11 shutouts. An All-Metropolitan selection, he helped lead the Jaspers to back-to-back Met Championships (1937-38). A multi-sport standout, he also was a member of the basketball and swimming teams. Following graduation, he played five years of professional baseball in the minor leagues after signing with the New York Yankees.
