AAU National Champion in 1953 set a meet record in the 35-lb. weight throw of 59'10-1/4".  Recorded six first-place finishes in the weight throw that season.  In 1952, won hammer throw titles at the Penn Relays and at the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships.  Indoor AAU and IC4A champion.
