Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
A highly-decorated member of Manhattan's 1973 NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championship team, Michael Mulqueen will be joining the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2019. Mulqueen specialized in the 400 meter hurdles event during his time in Riverdale and was one of the top hurdlers in the Metropolitan Conference. Since graduating, Mulqueen has spent the last 38 seasons as the Head Coach at Rutgers University. A six-time conference and five-time NCAA District Coach of the Year, he has overseen 29 Metropolitan team titles, 52 All-Americans, 281 Metropolitan Champions, 62 IC4A Champions, 12 Big Ten Champions, 434 All-East selections and a BIG EAST team title in 2005. Additionally, his former athlete Balazs Korani participated in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic games, reaching the semifinals both times. Mulqueen graduated from Manhattan with a degree in English and along with his wife Tracey are proud parents of their children Danny, Sean and Emily-Anne.
