Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
John Moran was a two-sport standout at Manhattan, playing on the baseball and football teams. Moran served as the captain of 1936 baseball team, which is considered to be greatest in school history. He batted .390 as the Jaspers finished 14-2 and averaged nine runs per game. During his three years, Moran led Manhattan to an 40-13 record. He would go on to serve as a Rhode Island State Senator for 10 years.
