Arthur Jocher was a standout performer for the football team, earning All-Metropolitan, All-East and All-American honors. He was then drafted in the ninth round of the 1940 NFL Draft by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Jocher, who played guard, would go on to be named the 1940 NFL Rookie of the Year to highlight a two-year career.
