Manhattan University Athletic Hall of Fame
Andy McGowan was a two-sport standout for the Jaspers, playing both baseball and basketball. On the hardwood, he led Manhattan to a 48-25 record over his three years. As a senior, he was team captain of a Jasper squad that went 20-6 and won the first-ever NIT game in school history against Louisville. He also served as a captain on the diamond, batting over .300 during his career. Following graduation, he was drafted by the Syracuse Nationals in the fourth round of the 1953 NBA Draft.
