 Manhattan (5-3; 1-0 MAAC) concludes a brief two-match homestand on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 pm against Siena (5-2-2; 1-0 MAAC) before heading to Fairfield (3-6-1; 0-1 MAAC) on Wednesday, September 30 at 7:00 pm. Head Coach Brendan Lawler recently sat down with the Jasper Sports Network (JSN) in the Marro Broadcast Studio to discuss the teams' upcoming matches.


Last Week
Manhattan opened conference play last Saturday with a 4-0 drubbing of Canisius as junior Erica Modena (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa) led the way with a pair of goals. The Jaspers outshot the Golden Griffins by a 23-3 count, including placing 13 on goal.

At The Top
Modena leads all MAAC players and among the NCAA leaders in goals (7; 17th), game-winning goals (3; 12th), goals per game (.875; 14th) and points per game (1.75; 35th).

Skonieczny Standing Out
Senior Kristen Skonieczny (Lagrangeville, NY / Arlington) notched her 11th career shutout and 18th career win against Canisius, making one save. This season she has three shutouts and leads the MAAC while ranking among the national leaders in save percentage (.885; 23rd) and GAA (0.55; 34th).

Freshmen Phenoms
Freshmen Nicole Copping (Blue Point, NY / Bayport-Blue Point) and Emma Saul (Orchard Park, NY / Orchard Park) both scored their first career goals against Canisius.

Lending A Helping Hand
Seniors Colleen Kavanagh (Rockville Centre, NY / Sacred Heart Academy), Emily Ude (Babylon, NY / North Babylon) and junior Lizzy Carlson (Auburn, MA / Auburn) each notched assists against the Golden Griffins and are all tied for the team lead with two.

Manhattan-Siena Notes
* Manhattan and Siena played last year to a 1-1 draw.
* Ude notched the lone Jasper goal of the match.
* The Saints lead the all-time series by a 16-5-4 count, including going 6-3-3 in Riverdale.

Manhattan-Fairfield Notes
* Fairfield bested Manhattan 2-0 last season.
* The Stags lead the all-time series by a commanding 22-2-4 count and are 9-0-3 in the teams' last 12 meetings. 
* A victory would be the first in program history for the Jaspers when playing at Fairfield.
