Molly Brunk Wins MAAC Defensive Player Of The Week

10/27/2025 2:00:00 PM

EDISON, NJ - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced that Manhattan University Junior goalkeeper Molly Brunk has been named MAAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, per release on Monday afternoon.

The Fairfax. Va. native accumulated seven saves off 11 shots faced in the Jaspers' 4-0 win over Merrimack on Saturday at Gaelic Park. In the process, Brunk compiled her eighth clean sheet of 2025 along with the 19th of her career, extending upon the program record she broke two weeks ago against Marist.

Manhattan continues to use Brunk's defense to further their playoff push towards the MAAC Women's Soccer Championship. As of Monday, the Green and White hold the final seed at sixth with 19 points. They are also tied with Canisius and trailing Marist and Sacred Heart by one and two points, respectively.

"Happy for Molly to have her effort from this past week recognized. However, I know she's focused, as we all are, on securing a playoff spot on Wednesday," said Head Coach Brendan Lawler

Lawlwer and the Jaspers return to action on Wednesday, October 29, for their regular season finale against Quinnipiac. The contest can be viewed on ESPN+ with opening kick scheduled for 2:30 p.m. from Quinnipiac Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium.
