Manhattan will open up the program's 25th season of intercollegiate soccer against Vermont on Friday, August 21 at Gaelic Park with first kick slated for 7:00 pm.


Welcome Back
Returning for the Jaspers are 13 letterwinners, including eight starters from a year ago. Leading the way is senior goalkeeper Kristen Skonieczny (Lagrangeville, NY / Arlington), who matched the single-season program record with eight victories last season. Classmate Sam Washuk (Milford, CT / Joseph A. Foran) is the leading returning scorer, having netted three goals in 2014.

The New
Manhattan welcomes 12 newcomers, including 11 freshmen, to the fold for the 2015 season.

The MAAC
The Jaspers were slated to finish sixth in the annual preseason coaches poll.

Last Time Against Vermont 
Manahttan defeated Vermont 2-0 on September 28, 2002 in the only previous match-up between the schools.

For Starters
The Jaspers will be looking for their third-straight season-opening victory and are 3-2 under head coach Brendan Lawler in season lidlifters.

All-Time
Manhattan is 12-11-1 in seasons openers.

High Five
Under Lawler, the Jaspers are a perfect 5-0 in home openers.

The A-East
Friday's opener is the first match against an America East opponent since besting Binghamton 1-0 last season.

A Good Start
Manhattan posted exhibition victories over Albany and Monroe last weekend.
