Box Score

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Aislinn McIlvenny (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) scored 8:06 into overtime to lift the Manhattan College women's soccer team (5-3) to a 2-1 victory over Yale (3-1) at Reese Stadium in the final game of the Yale Classic on Sunday afternoon.

Manhattan trailed 1-0 before Tiffanie McIntosh (Groton, N.Y.) scored the equalizer in the 77th minute.  She took a pass from Emily Ude (Babylon, N.Y.) and delivered a perfect strike just under the crossbar for her first goal of the year.  Yale had a chance to win it late in regulation, but Kristen Skonieczny (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) made the save on a shot by Maggie Furlong, sending the game into overtime.

Skonieczny made another huge save early in the extra period, and Yale had two other shots that were off the mark before McIlvenny won it for Manhattan.  Her initial attempt was blocked, but she got her own rebound, dribbled past a defender and fired from 20 yards out.  It was McIlvenny's team-leading sixth goal of the year and her third game-winner.

After a scoreless first half, Yale got on the board first when Sarah McCauley was taken down in the box and Frannie Coxe converted a penalty kick in the 64th minute.  The Bulldogs got off eight shots in the second half, but wouldn't find the back of the net again, as Skonieczny made four saves in the period.

Yale held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks and an 18-12 advantage in shots, but Skonieczny (5-3) recorded five saves to pick up the win.  Elise Wilcox started in goal for the Bulldogs, while Rachel Ames (2-1) took the loss after entering at halftime.

The contest was Manhattan's final non-conference game of the season.  The Jaspers (0-0 MAAC), who finished with a winning record in non-conference play for the first time since 2009, begin their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schedule by welcoming Niagara (3-1-2, 0-0 MAAC) to Gaelic Park next Sunday at 10 a.m.
