Riverdale, N.Y. (September 24, 2007)- Manhattan College senior goalkeeper Alicia DeFino was named the MAAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced today by the conference office.
DeFino was outstanding in goal in Manhattan's. 2-0, shutout win at Lafayette College on Friday, September 21, turning aside all six shots she faced, including five in the second half.
On the season, the net minder ranks second in the MAAC in goals against average (1.21), save percentage (.847), saves (50), and saves per game (7.14).
Manhattan returns to action on Wednesday, September 26, traveling to Stony Brook, N.Y. to take on the Stony Brook University Seawolves. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
