Box Score

The Manhattan College men's soccer team lost to metro area rival Adelphi 3-0 Saturday in a match held at Adelphi. Adelphi got two goals from Issa Tall on the way to the win. With the victory Adelphi runs their win streak to six games and improves to 7-1-2 overall, while Manhattan falls to 1-8-1.

Tall got the Panthers going in the 22nd minute as he ran onto a through ball that came from John Koutsounadis, giving Adelphi a 1-0 lead which the squad held into the halftime intermission.

In the 54th minute of the second half an Adelphi striker was entering the Jasper penalty area when a Manhattan defender pulled him down.  Adelphi was awarded a penalty kick, which Tall converted, beating Joseph Lorenz with a blast to the upper left side of the goal, making the score 2-0.

Quintel Gates closed out the scoring for Adelphi in the 80th minute on a goal mouth scramble.

Lorenz picked up six saves in goal for Manhattan, while Thorne Holder made three saves for Adelphi.  Manhattan was outshot by Adelphi 16-5.
