EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced that Manhattan Jaspers' sophomore midfielder William Fagerberg and senior goalkeeper Ludvig Malberg have been named MAAC Men's Soccer's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, per release on Monday afternoon.
The Incarnate Word transfer put together a career fixture with his first career hat-trick against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. Fagerberg logged goals four, five, and six on the season, and currently sits second in the conference behind Saint Peter's Tim Strele (11).
Additionally, he added five shots in 85 minutes on the pitch. With the Jaspers recording a three-match result streak to open the month of October (2-0-1), Fagerberg has logged a combined four goals in the last three matches.
For Malberg, the senior Swedish native posted his second and third clean sheets in the last two matches against Merrimack and Mount St. Mary's, respectively. Against the Mount, Malberg logged six saves on 12 shots faced, while surrendering zero goals to the Mountaineers. Malberg sits second in the MAAC in saves per match, averaging 5.20.
The Green and White are back in action on Wednesday, October 15, when the Jaspers travel to face the Bobcats of Quinnipiac to continue their conference slate, beginning at 3 p.m. The fixture can be viewed on ESPN+ with a paid subscription.
