Andrew Scala was born on March 3, 1999, and is from his hometown of Nyack, New York. He is the son of Philip and Helen Scala. He attended Nyack High School where he played the defense position for 4 years on the Nyack High School Lacrosse team. Andrew is in the class of 2021 majoring in Civil Engineering with aspirations to become a geotechnical engineer and pursue a professional engineering license. He came to Manhattan College for its highly regarded engineering program and multiple coaches and teachers who were supportive alumni. His sisters Adriana Scala attends Johnson and Wales University and Caroline Scala attends the University of Rhode Island. Adriana Scala played field hockey for 4 years at Johnson and Wales University. Andrew’s cousin, Christopher Gorman, graduated from Manhattan College in 2005. Andrew’s local new coverage is in The Journal News, LoHud, Rockland County Times and News 12 Hudson Valley. He took action in his community through The Midnight Run from 2013 to 2019, Helping Hands from 2013 to 2019, and Heroes and Cool Kids from 2013 to 2017.
