Scholastic/Personal
Charles Barnes is from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Frederick and Virginia Barnes. His sister, Lillian Barnes attends Fordham University. Charles has rowed for 3 years, played lacrosse for 7 years and played rugby for 1.5 years. He was captain of the lacrosse team his senior year and earned varsity letters all 4 years. He is in the class of 2021 majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. His aspirations are to become a data scientist, hardware engineer or machine learning engineer. Charles came to Manhattan College because it is a great engineering school and is “the school that built New York.” Charles’s mother and father both graduated from Manhattan College in the class of 1981. Outside of rowing and academics, he is a ski patrolman.
