CANTON, MA – Manhattan Women's Golf took part in the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College from Blue Hill Country Club on Monday and Tuesday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- To open the first round of the Red Bandanna, Giana Zinke fueled the Jaspers with a fifth hole birdie, before landing par on the next two holes. On the back nine, Zinke provided the Green and White with an additional pair of birdies on holes 14 and 18 to capture a three over par finish.
- Throughout the remainder of the first round, Jayden Peters and Nawel Ben Letaief, were able to sink home three birdies throughout the 18 holes to open the tournament.
- In the second round, birdies came more frequently with Isabella Encinas bouncing back with a fifth hole capture, followed by two additional pars to close out the front nine. Beans Factor joined with a pair on the sixth and 14th holes, respectively.
- The Jaspers provided an additional five birdies throughout the third round with a pair coming from Nawel Ben Letaief, who paced the Green and White on the final day of competition.
QUOTES FROM THE JASPERS
Head Coach Keith Prokop: "It was nice to see the ladies have some break out performances. Giana (Zinke) in round one was fantastic and once she settles in, she'll be a real force in the MAAC. Nawel (Ben Letaief) had our first event par round in Lady Jasper history on a very difficult golf course. We have all the pieces to the puzzle; we just need to learn how to solve it."
UP NEXT
