RIVERDALE, NY - At season's end last weekend, the Manhattan Jaspers women's volleyball team found a new plateau in their program's history. With 259 total team blocks, the Green and White have set a new program record since team blocks began being tracked by the NCAA in 2014.

Sitting at 34th nationally, the Jaspers led the MAAC as well, coasting nearly 20 places above 52nd-ranked Saint Peter's. Manhattan tallied double digit blocks in ten of their 28 contests, including a stretch of seven over their final nine games. Their best performance came in a home win over Rider on 10/25, accumulating 16 against a team who finished third in the MAAC standings.

Junior middle blocker Abby Morreale lived up to her position's name this year, becoming the only Jasper to secure triple digits in the category with 112. This also led to her being the only player in Green and White averaging more than one block per set (1.12).

Not to be outdone, Junior outside hitter Katie Powers shined the brightest with individual performances, with her nine assisted blocks in the regular season finale against Sacred Heart marking as the single-game high across the team, and registering three more nights of eight blocks.

All-MAAC Rookie Team selection Freshman right side Hanna Kaczynska also contributed 88 blocks, the second-highest number on the squad as well as leading in solos with ten.

"I'm very proud of this accomplishment. It's a testament to the talent we have on this team as well as the work that was put in at practice to improve these numbers over the season to make our way to the top," commented Head Coach Mauro Miletic
