RIVERDALE, N.Y. - As the 2026 season looms, Manhattan University Women's Volleyball head coach Brooke Alverson has announced the hiring of two new assistant coaches, Fred Lin and Chris Sullivan.

Lin comes fresh off a stint at fellow Division I and Bronx institution Fordham, where he led the offense and helped with overall game prep. Prior to starting in Division I, Lin coached at NJCAA College of Marin and University of California - Santa Cruz, before earning the title of head coach at Dominican University of California. There, he led the program out of the COVID-19 shutdown and won three consecutive AVCA All-Academic Team Awards.

Coaching since the age of 19, Lin has been a part of multiple Fortune 500 companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, volunteer coaching at local volleyball clubs and sending over 75 athletes to play at the college level. Winning multiple Regional Coach of the Year awards at the high school level, he later became a graduate assistant at Eastern Kentucky in 1996. There, he introduced swing blocking to the sport.

Sullivan also arrives in Riverdale following a three-year stint at Fordham, playing an integral role in player development, recruiting, and defensive systems. While a member of the coaching staff, he helped guide the Rams to one of the most successful stretches in program history.

In 2025, Sullivan coached Tatum Holderid, who finished second in Division I in blocks per set (1.83) and ranked 18th in total blocks, setting a new program record for block assists. Coaching multiple All-Atlantic 10 Conference athletes, his players also routinely won Offensive, Defensive, and Rookie of the Week honors.

Sullivan has spent 15 years coaching club volleyball in a variety of roles, including head coach and club director positions in both California and New York. As a player, he played Men's Volleyball at University of the Pacific, graduating in 2012.
