Steven Rosen promoted to Interim Baseball Coach at Manhattan

Current Manhattan College Assistant Baseball Coach Steven Rosen, a former Director of Player Development at Alabama, has been named Interim Head Coach at Manhattan College, it was announced by Irma Garcia, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Rosen—who becomes the youngest active D1 baseball head coach—succeeds Dave Miller who has led the Jaspers the past two seasons.

The 29-year old Rosen inherits a Jasper program that placed two players each on the All-MAAC First Team, All-MAAC Second Team, and All-MAAC Rookie Team.

Before arriving at Manhattan in 2022, Rosen served as the Director of Player Development for the Alabama Crimson Tide, including having daily responsibilities assisting pitching coach Jason Jackson. Rosen also assisted heavily in the Crimson Tide's recruiting efforts. Before Alabama, Rosen also had stints as a coach with the Minnesota Twins organization and the Harwich Mariners of the prestigious Cape Cod Summer League, as well as the University of Notre Dame and Georgia State University.

"We are excited to have Coach Steven Rosen take over our baseball program that carries a proud tradition and will continue to improve under leadership," Garcia said. "I enjoy watching Coach Rosen bring his energy, passion and expertise to Manhattan baseball and look forward to working with the coach in continuing to bring excellent student-athletes to our baseball program."

"I am incredibly proud and honored to represent Manhattan College as the head baseball coach," Rosen said. "I want to extend my deepest gratitude to President Riverso and our athletics director, Irma Garcia, for their support and confidence in me. I would also like to thank my family for their constant belief and encouragement. I am excited to lead our team and continue the tradition of excellence at Manhattan College."

Miller has left the Manhattan baseball program to return closer to his home in Philadelphia. In 2024, Miller's second season at the helm, Manhattan finished with a record of 22-30, placing seventh in the MAAC. Overall, Miller departs with a career record of 44-64 in Riverdale.

"I want to thank Coach Miller for his service to Manhattan College," Garcia said. "We wish him the best in his future endeavors."
