RIVERDALE, NY – Manhattan Baseball's Head Coach
Steven Rosen has announced the addition of Associate Head Coach, Giuseppe Papaccio, on Thursday afternoon.
"We are thrilled to welcome Coach [Giuseppe] Papaccio, his wife Carlie, and their two children back to Manhattan as our associate head coach," says Rosen.
"He brings a proven track record of developing hitters, building high-level offenses and helping programs win championships."
Papaccio, a former All-American shortstop for the Seton Hall Pirates in the Big East, recently served as Associate Head Coach in South Orange, where he oversaw the evolution of six All-Big East position players, coached two Big East batting champions in four seasons, recruited and developed AJ Soldra (Los Angeles Dodgers) and Max Viera (Toronto Blue Jays).
Big East batting champion Aiden Robbins, who paced the conference with a .422 average in 2025. Additionally, it was Devin Hack, who topped the conference in batting average with a .439 during the 2023 season.
During his tenure, the former Chicago Cubs draft selection, six position players took home All-Big East honors, including Robbins, second teamer Kevin Milewski, and Jonathan Luders, three seasons ago.
"His success at Seton Hall and NJIT speaks for itself, but what excites me the most, is the impact he will have on our players every single day."
In 2025, the Pirates blasted 44 home runs as a unit, which was the most in a single season in nearly three decades. Milewski posted 16 round trippers two seasons ago, which was the most by a Pirate in a single season in 29 seasons.
In his first year donning the Associate Head Coach title, the Pirates improved in a baker's dozen offensive categories including OPS, batting average, on-base percentage, extra base hits, and runs.
Prior to his second stint at his alma mater, Papaccio served as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator in the Ironbound section of Newark at NJIT for the Highlanders.
In 2022 under the guidance of Papaccio, the Highlanders set school records in hits, doubles, triples, home runs, walks, RBI, extra base hits, stolen bases, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS.
Papaccio helped guide the Highlanders to the 2021 America East Championship and a victory in the NCAA Fayetteville (AR) Regional.
"Giuseppe understands what it takes to develop at a high level, he knows this area extremely well, and he understands what Manhattan Baseball can be."
The Essex County native served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Jaspers prior to crossing the Hudson River.
Throughout his time in Riverdale, Papaccio was part of the coaching staff that coached former then-MAAC Rookie of the Year and San Francisco Giants draft selection Fabian Pena. Shortstop and New York Yankees signee Chiqui Carrera, and former then-MAAC Player of the Year Christian Santisteban.
As a student-athlete, Papaccio logged one of the best individual seasons at the plate in Seton Hall history. He was named a unanimous First Team All-Big East selection, and New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Player of the Year, where he finished third in the conference with a .365 batting average, and led the league in doubles.
Papaccio set the Seton Hall career record with 56 doubles and tied the single-season Pirate record with 24.
"He's an outstanding teacher, recruiter and competitor, and adding someone with his experience and track record is a major step forward for our program," concluded Rosen.
