HOW IT HAPPENED

- After Iona threatened early with a double, but starting pitcher Matthew Steinberg forced the Gaels down with a swinging strikeout to end any further noise.
- Manhattan struck early with Colin Basehore grounding out to the shortstop to drive home Justin Best from third.
- The home team posted four runs before the Jaspers responded in the top of the seventh inning with its second run courtesy of Lordier, again, with a sacrifice fly to center, and brought home Hunter Sute to cut Iona's lead in half.
