El SEGUNDO, Calif. – Women's basketball assistant coach
Callan Stores was named to the Silver Waves Media 2023 75 Rising Stars list of Impactful Women's Mid-Major Assistants.
Stores is one of two MAAC coaches to earn a spot on the list, with the other being Quinnipiac's Brian Wilson.
While in Riverdale, Stores has worked with the forwards to great effect. Stores mentored former Jasper standout
Courtney Warley into being one of the best players to be put on the Manhattan Green and White.
Warley finished her career in Riverdale as a five-time all-league selection and two-time all-met selection. Statically, Warley was dominant, as those accolades imply. Warley finished top-10 in program history in scoring with 1,295 points, second in total rebounds with a massive 1,206 boards. Of those 1,206 rebounds, 787 of those came on the defensive end, which is second in school history. Offensively, she hauled in 419 rebounds which is tops in Jasper history.
This season, Stores worked with
Petra Juric, who turned in some big performances this season. In her first three appearances of the season, Juric was the only player in the country to turn in three consecutive 20-point double-doubles. In the MAAC Championship, Juric recorded two double-doubles and was a big factor in the Jaspers making it all the way to the finals for the second consecutive season.
