ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Manhattan's
Josh Roberts has been named MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
Roberts shares the award with Berrick JeanLouis of Iona.
The Troy, Ala. native led the MAAC in blocks this season with 1.8 and added four more in the Jaspers' loss to Marist in the First Round of the MAAC Championship on Tuesday night. Roberts had nine games this season of at least three blocks and five games with multiple steals.
The fifth-year forward is the third different Jasper to win or share MAAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Pauly Paulicap won it in 2018, and Rhamel Brown won it three straight seasons (2012-14).
Roberts was also named Third Team All-MAAC this season, which was his first career All-MAAC honor.
