Riverdale, NY – Manhattan Head Men's Basketball Coach
Steve Masiello has announced the addition of
Samba Diallo (Rufisque, Senegal / UMass) and
Jason Douglas-Stanley (Mount Vernon, NY / George Mason) for next season. Both student athletes will be juniors and have two years of eligibility remaining.
Diallo Capsule
* Diallo averaged 6.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last year with three double-doubles and 10 double-digit scoring performances, while shooting 43.1 percent from the floor.
* Played in all 31 games, making 30 starts, while seeing an average of 27.1 minutes each time out.
* Scored a career-high 19 points, on 9-for-12 shooting, in win over Saint Joseph's.
* Notched double-doubles in victories against Duquesne (12 points, 13 rebounds) and La Salle (12 points, 12 rebounds), while finishing with 11 points, a career-high 14 rebounds in overtime loss at Saint Louis.
* Had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals against nationally ranked Dayton, and six points and eight caroms against defending national champion Virginia.
Douglas-Stanley Capsule
* Helped George Mason to 35 wins over the last two years.
* Scored six points with three rebounds in win over Fordham last year.
* As a freshman, hit for six points in wins over Rhode Island, Fordham and George Washington.
* 2018 New York Class AA First Team All-State and NY Section 1 Mr. Basketball.
* As a senior, averaged 28.7 points per game while leading the Knights to the Sectional Title, and a spot in the New York State Final Four.

The two student-athletes join a team that returns 78.9 percent of its scoring, 76.2 percent of its rebounding and 72.7 percent of its assists in 2020-21.
