Kenza Hall Completes Summer Internship With Oakland Athletics

OAKLAND, CA – Manhattan College volleyball player Kenza Hall (Oakland, CA) got her first taste of a career in the sports industry when she landed a summer internship with her hometown Oakland Athletics.  Hall worked in Oakland Coliseum with the A's ticketing department.

"I love that my first real job in the industry I love most was in my hometown," Hall said.  "I have so much deep-rooted love for this city and all of the Bay Area, so being able to work for Oakland's team was an amazing experience."

Hall worked on both game days and non-game days, selling tickets in the ticket booths, maintain relationships with season ticket holders, and providing customer service to high-profile clients.  In addition to her regular customers who attend games frequently, she had ticket buyers from Canada, Japan, Australia and several other nations.

"One thing that was really beautiful to see was how large and consistent the support for the A's is, both in the Bay Area and around the world," Hall noted.

She also spent time getting to know the different departments within the organization, which helped her gain a better understanding of the day-to-day operations of a Major League Baseball franchise.  Hall had some additional perks, as well, such as the opportunity to watch batting practice.

"There are a lot of fun additions that come with working in the A's organization," she said.  "It's really fun sometimes to get to work early and go watch batting practice or running into some of the players on their way to the field."
