Love Litzell Wins IC4A Championship In Hammer Throw

Results | Updated Sunday Schedule

Friday Recap

PRINCETON, NJ – Despite wind and heavy rain, the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships continued on Saturday at Princeton University's Weaver Stadium.  Only a handful of events were completed, one of which was the men's hammer throw, where Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden) of the Manhattan College track & field team won the gold medal.

Litzell won the event on his first attempt, when he got out to a distance of 65.73 meters (215 feet, eight inches).  It was his third career IC4A hammer throw title.  He finished first in both 2014 and 2015 before missing last year's meet due to injury.

With Litzell's 10 points added to the Jaspers' total, Manhattan is currently tied for fifth place in the team standings, just four points behind first-place Army West Point.

All other events were postponed until Sunday because of the weather.  As a result of the schedule change, all track races will be timed finals.
