NEW YORK, NY – The Manhattan Men's and Women's Track and Field returned to familiar territory to take part in the Dr. Sander Scorcher, hosted by Columbia University inside The Armory, on Friday and Saturday afternoons.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shining bright in New York City to open the competition was sophomore Jayce Ward, who led the Men's Triple Jump field with a mark of 14.29m.
- On the Women's side in the Triple Jump, it was freshman Kayla Darius, who logged 11.26m for a third-place finish.
- In the Men's Weight Throw, senior Myron Corpuz secured a top ten finish with a distance of 16.04m.
- As a team, the Jaspers' Women, consisting of Ellianne Fernandez, Oliviah Hussey, SaRae Kennard, Kayla Darius, Elaina Batista, and Camryn Daley, posted a time of 3:53.16, for a fourth-place finish in the Women 4 x 400 Relay Open event.
- For the Men's 4 x 400 Relay Open event, consisting of CJ Purchia, Joao Mota, Thomas Bonsignore, Sebastian Perez, Jaden Walker, and Colby Micheels
- In the Women's 60m Hurdles event, senior Isabella Sing posted a mark of 9.30 to land in the top five.
- In the Women's 400m event, Fernandez landed in the tenth spot for a time of 57.62.

The Green and White return to action on Friday, January 30, when the Jaspers take part in the Metropolitan Indoor Championships from Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
