LEWISBURG, PA – The Manhattan Men's and Women's Track and Field teams took part in the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell University inside Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday afternoons.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On the Men's side to open the invitational on Saturday, senior Alex Bilello posted a distance of 6.74m in the Men's Long Jump for an 11th place finish. A few spots behind Bilello was freshman Jordan Hairston, who posted a 19th-place marker and a distance of 6.48m.
- On the Women's side, senior Isabella Sing logged a distance of 5.69 in the Women's Long Jump for a seventh-place finish.
- In the Women's 10,000m, senior Bella Cannizzo rounded out the top ten with a time of 40:01.26.
- The Jaspers opened Sunday with the Men's 4x100 with the quartet of Alex Bilello, Joao Mota, Shane McCory, and Thomas Bonsignore combining for a time of 43.01, and a top 15 finish.
- Sophomore Thea Dahl put together a second-place finish in the Women's Hammer Throw with a distance of 54.43m, nearly 1 meter shy of Penn State's Alex Pancoast.
- Freshman Maddie Stiefel rounded out the top 20 in the Women's Hammer Throw with a distance of 44.04m.
- Finishing fifth in the Men's Triple Jump was sophomore Jayce Ward, who was just .02m shy of Slippery Rock's Jason Alderson, and logged a distance of 14.32m.
- Senior Isabella Sing registered a mark of 14.79m and tied Bloomsburg's Abby Parise for 13th place. Sing, sat 14th due to the exact timing at 14.788, compared to 14.781. Nearly seven tenths of a second longer.
- Sophomore Ellianne Fernandez finished 12th with a time of 57.37 in the Women's 400m event.
- Freshman Skye Whitson joined the top 20 in the Women's Javelin Throw with a distance of 37.42m.
- Rounding out the top ten in the Women's Triple Jump was freshman Kayla Darius with a mark of 11.54m.
- In the Women's 200m, sophomore Oliviah Hussey ended the respective event with a distance of 24.65m and an eighth-place finish.
- In the Men's 4x400, the Jaspers foursome featuring Christopher Purchia, Joao Mota, Thomas Bonsignore, and Sebastian Perez, all combined for a final score of 3:17.94 and seventh place marker.
UP NEXT
The Green and White return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19, when the Jaspers join the crowded field at the ECAC/IC4A Championships in Piscataway on the campus of Rutgers University.
