RIVERDALE, NY – On Saturday, the Manhattan College women's lacrosse team (3-6, 0-1 MAAC) goes for its second straight victory when it hosts Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Quinnipiac (1-8, 0-1 MAAC). The Jaspers, who beat Sacred Heart 10-5 on Wednesday, will play three of their next four contests at Gaelic Park.
Manhattan is seeking to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. Molly Fitzpatrick (Yorktown, NY) has team-leading totals in goals (21) and points (28), while Sarah Lang's (Golden's Bridge, NY) nine assists are a squad-best. Caitlin Murphy (Carmel, NY) leads the Jaspers with 15 draw controls to go along with 15 ground balls and 12 goals. Emma Kaishian (Yorktown, NY) paces the team with 24 ground balls, and Hailey Siemek (Bel Air, MD) has caused 13 turnovers. Goalkeeper Nikki Prestiano (Yorktown Heights, NY), meanwhile,has 88 saves and an 11.29 goals against average.
The Bobcats have dropped eight straight since winning their season opener. Last Saturday, Quinnipiac fell to Monmouth by a 12-8 count. Alex Hlesciak leads the Bobcats with 16 goals, and she's also recorded 13 draw controls. Ashley Bobinski has notched 12 goals and 16 points this season, while Kiera Kelly paces the squad with 29 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. In addition to picking up 27 ground balls, goalkeeper Kyle Larkin has made 93 saves and posted a goals against average of 12.24.
Quinnipiac has won all three meetings between the teams since the Bobcats joined the MAAC in 2014.
