RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College rising junior Emmy Andujar recently completed the 2013 Stankovic Cup tournament, playing for his native Puerto Rico. Playing against some of the top international basketball teams in the world, Puerto Rico finished in fourth place after a 70-67 loss to Nigeria in the third place game on Tuesday, July 9.
Argentina took home the gold medal at the Stankovic Cup with a win over the host Chinese team, featuring former NBA center Yi Jianlian.
Andujar was one of 12 players on the Puerto Rican national team, and one of five Division I players selected to play for Puerto Rico. Last season, Andujar played in all 32 of Manhattan's games and made 16 starts. The 6-6 forward filled the stat sheet, averaging 8.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and nearly a steal per game.
The Jaspers are currently preparing for a one-week foreign tour in the Bahamas beginning on July 31. The 2013-14 season begins on Saturday, November 9 at La Salle in Philadelphia.
