RIVERDALE, N.Y. — Manhattan Men's Basketball Head Coach John Gallagher has announced the addition incoming redshirt sophomore forward Kevin Kearney on Tuesday morning.
"Kevin is a very lively forward who can impact both ends of the floor with his length and high activity level," says Gallagher.
The 6-7 forward returns home to the Boroughs, after starting his collegiate career in Philadelphia for the Saint Joseph's Hawks in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
After sitting out his freshman year in 2023-24, Kearney appeared in 14 games, totaling 57 minutes on the floor, with a high of 11 minutes against the Hornets of Delaware State on December 18, 2025. He logged five points on a 2-for-4 night, converted one free-throw, and totaled three rebounds in that contest.
"He is a long wing with the athleticism to guard multiple positions, rebound at a high level, and finish around the basket — his impact will make an immediate difference."
In total, Kearney posted 14 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and one steal with nine points as a reserve for the 24-win Hawks this season.
In high school, Kearney began his career at Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn where he established a single game career scoring high of 45 points. After moving to South Shore High School, Kearney led the Vikings to the 2022 New York City Public School title. He was later tabbed as an All-New York Second Team honoree as a senior.
On the AAU circuit, Kearney played for the New York Gauchos.
"He brings a toughness to this group that we look forward to seeing from day one."
Kearney will pursue a degree in Communications while at Manhattan.
