RIVERDALE, N.Y. — Manhattan Men's Basketball Head Coach John Gallagher has announced the addition incoming freshman forward Dušan Eric on Thursday morning.
"Dusan gives us something we simply didn't have enough of last year — elite floor spacing from a frontcourt player," says Gallagher.
The 6-8 forward joins the Jasper family from nearby Hoosick, NY after playing his prep year in the Empire State. Eric started his playing career in his native Cacak, Serbia, on the Serbian U17 and U19 circuit.
While playing for Cacak 94, Borac Cacak, and Red Star spanning from 2021-2025, Eric combined to play 67 games in the Serbian One and Three leagues, posting 24.7 minutes on the floor, logging 11.1 points-per-game, and averaging 55.6 percent from the floor.
From distance, Eric netted a 30.5 percent clip from downtown, grabbed an average of 5.9 rebounds-per-game, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
As an amateur on the Serbian League circuit, Eric posted a near +15% increase from the floor in shooting percentage from 38.5 to 53.5.
"Posting fantastic shooting numbers, he changes the geometry of our offense. Defenses must account for him everywhere on the floor, and when he's open, he makes them pay."
"His scoring versatility at that size creates matchup problems that are very difficult to solve."
Stateside for Eric, he was named to the All-NEPSAC Class AAA First Team, as the only player from the Hoosac School to earn the prestigious honor after a strong senior season and averaging nearly 25 points-per-game and averaging double-digit rebounds off the glass.
In the classroom at Hoosac, Eric was named to the NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete award listing for the Winter of 2026.
