Manhattan College Men's Basketball 2013-14 Non-Conference Schdule

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The 2013-14 Manhattan College men's basketball non-conference schedule is out. The Jaspers will open the season on Saturday, November 9 at La Salle, which reached the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 last March.

"We put together a schedule that will get us ready for conference play, with a strong group of opponents with diverse styles of play," said head coach Steve Masiello. "When we get to conference play, we can reflect on how we played against teams that had a great deal of success last year."

The meeting with La Salle kicks off a nine-game non-conference slate, which features opponents from the Atlantic 10, Ivy League, Missouri Valley Conference, Colonial League and the Southeastern Conference.

After a matchup with Columbia on November 12, the Jaspers will return home on Saturday, November 16 for their home opener with George Washington. On Wednesday, November 20, Manhattan will meet Illinois State on the road in the first matchup ever between the two programs.

Following that game will be a familiar matchup - the annual Battle of the Bronx with Fordham. This year's game will be at Draddy Gymnasium on Tuesday, November 26. The Jaspers face another local rival on Saturday, November 30 when they will travel to Hofstra, led by former Niagara coach Joe Mihalich.

After the opening MAAC weekend in December, with dates and opponents to be determined later this summer, the Jaspers hit the road for a trip to the Carolinas. On Sunday, December 15, Manhattan will take on UNC Wilmington. Two days later, the Jaspers square off with South Carolina on December 17.

The final non-conference game of the regular season will take place on Saturday, December 21 against Buffalo at the Barclays Center. It is the start of a tripleheader with LIU Brooklyn vs. Temple and Michigan vs. Stanford to follow Manhattan's game. Tickets are available online through the Barclays Center website. Season tickets for home games at Draddy Gymnasium will be available later this summer.
