Marianna Capomolla Joins Volleyball Coaching Staff

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College head volleyball coach Mark Jones has completed his coaching staff with the hiring of Marianna Capomolla as an assistant coach, it was announced today.  A 2007 graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Capomolla is the Warriors' all-time leader in digs.

"I'm excited to have Marianna come aboard as an assistant coach," Jones said.  "Her winning experiences as a player and a coach are certainly assets, as is her knowledge of the defensive game.  She's a great addition to the staff, and I think she can help us become a better team."

She was a three-year starter at Eastern Connecticut State and earned Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2005 and 2006.  Capomolla helped the Warriors win back-to-back Little East tournament championships in 2005-06, earning tournament MVP honors each time.  She was named to First Team All-Little East following both the 2005 and 2006 campaigns after earning a Second Team All-Little East selection in 2004.

Capomolla began her coaching career as an assistant for former Manhattan Head Coach Jolie Ward at Eastern Connecticut State during the 2007 season.  She was an assistant coach at Stamford High School in 2008, and has also served as a head coach in the Greek Orthodox Volleyball League and Husky Youth Volleyball League.
