Riverdale, N.Y. (November 9, 2005)--In addition to being named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time in 2005, Manhattan Volleyball senior middle hitter
Maggie Pfeifer earned ECAC Division I Volleyball Player of the Week honors for her performance during the week ending on November 6.
Pfeifer received the ECAC honor after a week in which the senior posted whopping offensive numbers and reached another career milestone. Pfeifer, who continues to lead the MAAC in kills per game with a 4.30 average, recorded her 1,500th career kill as a Lady Jasper in a key conference victory over Iona. Pfeifer pounded out 21 kills to go with a .636 hitting percentage with no errors in the three-game sweep.
For the week, Pfeifer finished with 51 kills over nine games for a 5.67 kills per game average. The two-time All-MAAC First Team selection, who currently sits at second in the conference in the hitting percentage category, continues to produce at a very efficient rate offensively, as evidenced by her .479 hitting percentage over Manhattan's three matches.

Ashley Davis was named the MAAC's Defensive Player of the Week. Davis dug up 6.00 attacks per game to capture her first weekly honor of the season. She also eclipsed the 1,100-dig mark against Iona.
Pfeifer and Davis close out their regular season careers this upcoming weekend with two crucial MAAC Matches. With Fairfield being the only team to clinch a spot in the MAAC Post-season Tournament, Manhattan is one of five other teams competing for the remaining three spots.
