Riverdale, NY (November 30, 2003)- The Manhattan College women's volleyball team will be heading to Malibu, CA to take on Pepperdine University, the number four seed, in a first round matchup of the NCAA Volleyball Championships. The First Round match will take place on Thursday, December 4, at a time to be determined.

"We are very excited to be back in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year," commented head coach Pete Volkert. "We have a great amount of respect for Pepperdine, and we are proud to be representing Manhattan College and the MAAC in the NCAA Tournament."
The Lady Jaspers (21-13) advanced to the NCAA Tournament after winning their second straight MAAC regular season and Tournament Championships with a 3-0 win over St. Peter's on November 16 at the Siena College. This marks the second trip to the NCAA Tournament for the Manhattan volleyball program.
Manhattan is led by two-time MAAC Player of the Year Luka Van Cauteren and First Team All-MAAC selection Maggie Pfeifer.
Pepperdine (25-2) is the West Coast Conference Champion. Long Beach State (19-10) and Kansas (21-10) represent the rest of the Malibu regional, which will take place on December 4 and 5.
