ORLANDO, FL (November 18, 2002) - Junior
Goedele "Luka" Van Cauteren (Oetingen, Belgium) was named the 2002 MAAC Volleyball Player of the Year, as announced by conference officials at the Annual MAAC Volleyball Awards Banquet Monday evening.
Van Cauteren, a two-time MAAC Player of the Week, started all 29 matches for the Lady Jaspers and leads the team in kills per game (3.60) and is second on the team in assists per game (4.76). She is also third on the squad in service aces (42) and digs per game (2.44). Van Cauteren was also selected to the All-MAAC First Team.
Joining Van Cauteren on the All-MAAC First Team is senior
Bridgett Geddes (Escondido, CA). Geddes, the Lady J's primary setter the last three years, leads the team in assists per game (8.37). She has also collected 171 kills, 188 digs, 35 service aces and 48 total blocks. This marks the second straight year Geddes has been named to the All-MAAC First Team.

Amy O'Dorisio (San Diego, CA) was selected as the MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. This year, O'Dorisio shares the honor with Kelly Sieber of Canisius. O'Dorisio, who was also named to the All-MAAC Second Team, led the Lady J's in digs with 4.28 per game. She has been named to an All-MAAC Team all four years at Manhattan and has led the team in digs each year.
Additionally, four Lady Jaspers were recognized on the New York Lottery MAAC Volleyball All-Academic Team. The honrees included senior

Allison O'Neill (Houston, TX).
The No. 1-seeded Lady Jaspers take on No. 7 Saint Peter's Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 PM at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex with the MAAC Tournament Championship on the line.
