LEXINGTON, KY – Manhattan Women's Track and Field's Thea Dahl competed in the 2026 NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field East Regional in the Women's Hammer Throw Event from the University of Kentucky's Track and Field Complex on Thursday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Coming off a first-place finish in the Women's Hammer Throw in the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a 54.73m, redshirt freshman Thea Dahl posted a 56.62m in the Women's Hammer Throw event in Lexington.
  • This season in the respective event, Dahl has posted seven distances of 50-plus, with the highest coming at the IC4A-ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on April 18th, which was also a personal record for Dahl.
  • After finishing 37th overall in the event in Lexington, the season for the Jaspers comes to a close, with the top 12 heading to Eugene in two weeks.

QUOTES FROM THE JASPERS

Head Coach Todd Witzleben: "Thea closed out our season today by representing the Jasper program on a national level."

"With only three throws allowed, she opened with two fouls. At her first NCAA Championship meet, she could have let her nerves get to her. However, she had a great third throw to place 6th in her flight and 37th overall."

"She was ranked 47th coming into this competition, so she exceeded expectations. She displayed a lot of character with her performance. Her dramatic improvement this year speaks to her hard work with Coach Paddy McGrath."
