Thea Dahl Paces Track and Field in Hammer Throw at ECAC/IC4A Champs

PISCATAWAY, NJ – The Manhattan Men's and Women's Track and Field competed in the ECAC/IC4A Track and Field Championships inside the Bauer Track and Field Complex on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • During the Women's 100 Meter Dash preliminaries, junior Tranira Booker and sophomore Oliviah Hussey posted times of 11.97 and 12.03, respectively, for fourth and fifth-place finishes.
  • In the finals of the 100 Meter Dash, Booker rounded out the top five with a time of 12.21 to accrue three points for the Green and White.
  • In the Women's 3000 Meter Steeplechase, junior Bailee Christofis grabbed a point for Manhattan and rounded out the top eight with a time of 11:31.28.
  • The Jaspers continued to rack up the points in the Women's 4x100 Meter Relay from the quartet of Camryn Daley, Ellianne Fernandez, Oliviah Hussey, and Trainira Booker with a time of 48.19 and four points.
  • Senior Isabella Sing added five points for the Jaspers with 6.11m in the Women's Long Jump. Sing, who was tied with Mount's Camryn Jones-Howard and NJIT's Zaidah Lightener, settled for the fourth spot due to a .10 of a meter difference.
  • Leading the charge for the Jaspers was sophomore Thea Dahl in the Women's Hammer Throw, who logged 58.51 and 10 points for Manhattan.
  • On the men's side, freshman Sebastian Perez posted a time of 22.41 and came away with a 14th-place finish in the Men's 200 Meter Dash.
  • In the Men's 800 Meter Run, sophomore Rasmus Jaeger just missed the points threshold with a time of 1:54.77 and settled for a ninth-place finish in the event.
  • The Jaspers had one runner, Ivan Lytovchenko, finish in a tie for seventh place in the Men's High Jump with a 2.00m distance. Lytovchenko was one of four who finished with the distance, but was shorter by 0.20 m.

UP NEXT

The Green and White return to action on Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24, when the Jaspers travel to Philadelphia and partake in the annual Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. The two-day event can be viewed on Flo College with a paid subscription.
