RIVERDALE, N.Y. -
Heading into the home stretch, the Manhattan Jaspers look to win their fourth consecutive game, this time against the Warriors from Merrimack. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard Brianna Davis, averaging 14.6 points a night, including a Division I high of 28 points twice this month. Her scoring average puts her in fourth place across the MAAC. Senior guard Hana Mühl has helped spread the rock, with a nightly average of 4.1 holding second place in the MAAC. On the defensive end, Graduate forwards Colette Mulderig and Agar Farrés Garcia have helped anchor that end of the floor, with the former's 1.7 average on blocks putting her in second place across the MAAC, while the later's 7.8 rebound average keeps her in the top five as well. The Jaspers will look to tally their first four-game winning streak this season before taking on Iona next week.

Scouting the Opposition:

After getting off to a 3-6 start to the 2025-26 campaign, the Merrimack Warriors have since jumped out to a 13-4 start in the MAAC slate.

Merrimack has also won five consecutive games, against Sacred Heart (twice), Rider, Marist, and Siena.

The Warriors are led by three players in the starting lineup averaging double figures in the points category, comprised of Junior forward Madison Roman (12.6), Senior guard Lydia Melaschenko (12.2), and Graduate forward Oralye Kiefer (10.3).

Roman is averaging a double-double on her own, leading the team and the MAAC in rebounds with 10.7 a night. She is also second on the team in assists with 3.19 per contest.

Merrimack was selected to finish in eighth place in this year's edition of the MAAC Preseason Poll, just behind the Jaspers at seventh.

After hovering just below. 500 in the conference slate at 9-11 in 2024-25, the Warriors went in to the MAAC Championship as the sixth-seeded team.

In Atlantic City, Merrimack played third seed Siena in the MAAC Quarterfinals, where a dominant third quarter helped them edge the Saints 79-72. In the semifinals against Quinnipiac the following day, Merrimack's season came to a close by a final score of 65-51.

This will serve as just the third meeting all-time between Merrimack and Manhattan, with the two programs splitting their matchups in the 2024-25 season.
