RIVERDALE, N.Y. -
Fresh off their 18 point win over Niagara, the Manhattan Jaspers look to string a pair of wins together Saturday against the Golden Griffins from Canisius. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard Brianna Davis, averaging 14.3 points a night, including a Division I high of 28 points against Rider on Feb. 5. Her scoring average puts her in fourth place across the MAAC. Senior guard Hana Mühl has helped spread the rock, with a nightly average of 3.8 holding second place in the MAAC. On the defensive end, Graduate forward Colette Mulderig has helped anchor that end of the floor, with her 1.7 average on blocks putting her in second place across the MAAC, while a 5.8 rebound average keeps her in the top 15 as well. The Jaspers will look to put back-to-back wins together for the first time since Jan. 14 before they travel to Marist on Thursday (Feb. 19).

Scouting the Opposition:

After seven consecutive losses to open 2025-26, the Canisius Golden Griffins have picked up two wins in the conference slate.

Both of their MAAC wins have come against nearby foe Niagara, winning by a combined 32 points, 16 at each campus.

Canisius is led by Junior forward Shariah Gailes, who has posted 12.8 points a night, including three 20 point performances

Gailes is also the team's leading rebounder at 8.1 a game, also good enough for third across the MAAC.

Sophomore forward Yasmine Djibril (8.6) and Senior guard Frank Wittenberg (8.3) both follow behind, averaging above eight points each.

Two more Golden Griffins average at least five points a contest, in Sophmore forward Irene Ray Pineda (6.1) and Sophomore guard Corniya Clay (5.5).

Canisius was selected to finish in ninth place in this year's edition of the MAAC Preseason Poll.

After hovering just below. 500 in the conference slate at 9-11 in 2024-25, the Golden Griffins entered the 2025 MAAC Championship as the ninth-seeded team.

In Atlantic City, Canisius' first round matchup came against eighth-seeded Manhattan, who immediately ended their season by a final score of 52-42.

This will serve as the 76th matchup between Canisius and Manhattan, with the Jaspers taking the win in four of the last five meetings.
